This track may have been the first song written for the album back in 2003/2004, cooked on a digital 8-track Fostex and an MS-2000 synth after a classmate wrote a song in one week and someone foolishly declared they could do it in one day.

The drum beat came from a Korg. The bass had a little Primus goblin in it. The refrain arrived stream-of-consciousness, still wearing its shoes indoors.

The verses in this version began as a tape-recorder ghost, then got rebuilt to avoid copyright necromancy. The bridge was written by Sadie Robinson. Tight restrictions kept the song moving, no committee, no velvet rope.

Aeris Mandrake is an electronic-leaning indie artist whose work blurs raw emotion with synthetic texture, folding distorted pop hooks into messier, darker undercurrents. Her songs move between intimacy and abrasion, pairing vulnerable melodies with industrial edges, synth-driven atmospheres, and the restless energy of indie rock and emo.

Signed to Sodalite Media, Aeris emerged from the same creative orbit as Jet-Set Stereo, who first encountered her singing quietly to herself in the back of a Spencer's, half-buried under fluorescent light and novelty displays. Since then, she has become a frequent collaborator within the Jet-Set Stereo universe, channeling fractured memories and late-night impulses into music that feels both immediate and strangely displaced.
